In these ideas we trust (and in many others as well):

“local_minds” is a site dedicated to promoting artistic creation from young people in the Central and Eastern European countries, a web-project which is NOT affiliated to any political or religious movement whatsoever, our main criteria for publishing and expanding this site is the encouragement of artistic creation.

We encourage and post on our website literary and photographic materials i.e. prose, poetry, essays, plays and scripts in a variety of languages from this area, namely: Albanian, Byelorussian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, Macedonian, Moldavian, Polish, Romanian, Serbian, Slovakian, Slovenian and Ukrainian.  We also accept contributions from non-natives that have a considerable living experience and familiarity with this area.

This initiative belongs to a group of young artists and intellectuals from CEE countries that want to bring together members of the same generation having as a declared aim the establishing of a generation movement manifested into means of creation. Through the materials published herein we want to identify and monitor elements of a local specific mentality and culture present in the CEE countries, future members of the EU.
