The initial goal of local_minds was to create a virtual space where it could promote works of young artists from Central and Eastern Europe. Centered mainly around literature, but also encouraging creative photo galleries, local_minds has developed into a large collection of texts and pictures coming from a varied community.

The idea of the project was initiated 2 years ago, the online version being launched in March 2004. Towards putting the idea into practice a significant factor was the financial help received within the EU's "YOUTH" project. [read more in the "History" section]
