Contribution terms

"local_minds" is a site opened to contributions from young artists in the Central and Eastern European countries (see map) in the field of literary production and photographic art. We also accept materials from NON-CEE citizens, provided they have a considerable living experience of living in this area and are hence familiar with its specific.

The materials you send in will be thoroughly examined by an international board made up of ex-journalists, letter students, amateur writers and if accepted they will be posted after some editing is done. Please be advised that we reserve the right not to send any feedback if your text is not considered for publication. Uploads are made on a monthly / bi-monthly bases.

The selection of the materials that are received is made primarily according to our quality and policy standards, so, naturally,  the board cannot guarantee the publishing of all materials.

Contribution conditions and guidelines

There are several criteria applied upon considering the materials we receive. These conditions regard both the author and the material itself. Below is a detailed list:

• Authors BIO: Materials submitted should be accompanied by a brief English bio of the author. It should include a short presentation which will be later posted on our "Authors" profile page. In addition to this, it is of equal importance that you include your personal data (date of birth) and contact coordinates as well. This information will not be published on the site, nor will it be made public, it is intended for our archives only.
• Age Limit: Our site is opened to contributors under 35 years of age (birth year not before 1969), as since we are trying to capture a "generation-movement", we feel compelled to set such a selection criteria. However, in some cases, exceptions (of several years) can be made according to extraordinary quality of materials, genre or innovation.
• English version: We strongly recommend  you to send in (alongside your original text) an English version if available. It is not a "local_minds" must, but it would be advisable from the point of view of the general public.
• Aliases: Aliases are also accepted, if you chose to sign your text with an alias, we will preserve it in the posting of the material on the "local_minds" website. However, please remember that we do need your bio for the above-mentioned profile page.

Technical specifications (how to send in your materials):

We only accept materials which are sent through electronic mail, as attachments. Below you can find details on how your materials should be formatted:

• TEXTS: should be saved as *rtf format in order to better preserve the special characters you might include. The *rtf format is available in most best-knows text editors in the "file>save as" section, choosing from the "save as type" scroll menu.
